Currently on a short break
Yoga Desire acknowledges the Bunubu people as the Traditional Owners of the Country on which we choose to hold this retreat. We pay our respect to their elders, past, present and emerging. We feel very grateful and fortunate to be able to share a day of Yoga and Meditation with the Fitzroy Crossing community on Aboriginal Land.
Give yourself the gift of attending to yourself and indulge in a half day of "cooling" yoga & good mood food in the air conditioned comfort of inspiring space in Fitzroy Crossing.
Taryn & Jono will guide you through a full half day of yoga that is nurturing, gentle, kind and suitable for all abilities. The slow and steady pace of our yoga combined with certain "cooling" breath practices designed to activate the right hemisphere of the brain (our cooling & creative centre), will allow you to cool the mind, cool the nervous system and cool the body, having an overall calming effect. This day of bliss will allow you time to truly be with yourself.
Jalangurru Mayi Cafe in Fitzroy Crossing focuses on healthy food. The menu has been created to directly target preventable disease by creating fresh nutritional dense meals using food as medicine. All their delicious and nutritious food is prepared from scratch with a focus on local produce where they can in their cooking. The vegetarian meal, snacks and refreshments for the day will be light, fresh and easily digestible, helping to cool the body and elevate the spirit.
Jalangurru Mayi Cafe is located at 75 Emanuel Way in the heart of Fitzroy Crossing. The space we will use, is an inspiring room of Jalangurru Mayi that contains the creative art work and products of local people. The space will be a sacred & safe sanctuary where you can retreat from the distractions and reminders of day to day life & immerse in "me" time.

Thanks Taryn & Jono. It was a wonderful weekend and so good to re-centre. Taryn, your relaxed, soothing and lighthearted teaching style resonated with me. Jono, the food was amazing and has inspired me to try a few new veggie options

Thank you so much for all that you provided. The yoga, food and atmosphere were all perfect. Your attention to detail and all the small touches didn't go un-noticed. I hope you can both keep providing this experience to the Kimberley people. Thank you both again.

You have created such a beautiful space here and it has been a blissful break from the busyness and stresses work and life. I know it will grow and grow and I hope to join you again something.

We have been living in Derby in far Northern WA for 6 years and we opened the YD Studio in Derby in September of 2017. The Kimberley is our home.
Our Sankalpa (intention) is Yoga Desire. We have the desire to bring the tools of Yoga and Meditation to Remote Australia. Our mission is to make yoga accessible, inclusive and approachable for every body who comes along to our offerings.
Yoga Desire acknowledges the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging & recognise Derby, the place where we run our yoga studio as a place of cultural significance to NYIKINA MANGALA and many other Aboriginal people. We choose to practice Yoga & Meditation in a way that is gentle and kind in respect of ourselves, others and the Aboriginal Land that we stand on.
